			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Now I am not idiotic, I realize you do not have a strategic marketing team, a strategic planning team, and for that matter a strategic anything team. I do know that everyone inside of your corporation is much too focused on executing what really should be achieved today to go to one more meeting or be happy about being put on one more committee.</p>
<p>The fact is, even if you supposed a strategic management or strategic marketing team made sense &#8211; it is likely you would not know how to put one together. And you won&#8217;t be likely to track down anyone around the business who knows much more about it than you.</p>
<p>A strategic marketing team, like many other working groups doesn&#8217;t need to be elaborate to put together and run as all that. Also it isn&#8217;t going to demand anyone&#8217;s energy and time on a permanent basis, than yours.</p>
<p>Who will you get to be on your strategic marketing team? Who ought to be actively involved in the process and who can be counted on to supply the resources and perspectives you need?</p>
<p>From the start pick out 3-5 business owners from inside your industry, individuals whose organizations are well beyond the borders of your marketing areas. In a perfect world some participants would be like you, others older with more expertise, and some younger with fresh perspectives.</p>

<p>Competent business leaders are aware that any time you make better decisions you will get superior results, and that their best decisions are those made in alliance with folks whose achievements they admire and whose thoughts and opinions they trust. It is universally true that once we harness to power of our peers, we make smarter judgements that are the keys to higher profits.</p>
<p>To begin the first, of many, strategic team sessions, you&#8217;ll be identifying specifically what you want to accomplish. You must be able to look down the road, beyond today&#8217;s fires, and picture a target that is both far enough to be attainable &#8211; this takes time you know, yet close enough to be important. These are strategic sessions not crisis identification and management &#8211; and yet there should be a level of urgency in the process or nothing will get done.</p>
<p>And from the beginning you need to talk openly to your group of peers, outlining clearly how the results achieved will be measured. Be prepared for some meaningful discussions around this process, accurately identifying and agreeing on your targets, benchmarks and the definition of success in advance is critical to keeping the process moving forward and on track.</p>
<p>If these matters aren&#8217;t clearly decided in advance the resulting excuse making will destroy your credibility with your peers and eradicate momentum from the process.</p>
<p>As the strategies manifest and you take the results back to your company watch out for the agenda&#8217;s, hidden and otherwise of your staff. Every decision steps on somebody&#8217;s toes, at least a tiny bit and unless they are universally willing to set aside their internal issues and get together on the big picture, they can stop your progress dead in its tracks.</p>
<p>Every manager, supervisor, and employee has concerns about how these plans will effect them. Such things as cash flow, profitability, market share, employee satisfaction, and many other things will be impacted by the final decisions you and your strategic marketing team make. Be sensitive to their concerns and comments, Your people from the loading dock to the Board room must be 100% on board or all your strategic marketing team&#8217;s efforts will be a waste of time.</p>
<p>You and the strategic advisory team of your peers must consider how each element of your strategic marketing plan impacts your organization. This is an never ending story &#8211; your peer to peer strategic advisory team will meet continually. The topics discussed in these strategy sessions will expand to every area of your organization, creating a very real teams of advocates who will help you focus on your continued future.</p>
<p>A peer to peer collaboration process removes the number one problem faced by today&#8217;s business owners, making decisions in isolation with no one to trust to talk to, who will not hold it against them in some way.</p>
<p>Business owners who think strategically, plan comprehensively, and execute flawlessly will certainly outpace those who simply set goals and hope for the best. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am not idiotic, I&#8217;m certain there isn&#8217;t a strategic marketing team, a strategic planning team, or for that matter a strategic anything team. I realize that everybody with your establishment is way too engaged executing what should definitely be accomplished right now to participate in one more meeting or be happy about being put on one more committee.</p>
<p>In point of fact, even if you imagined a strategic management or strategic marketing team made good sense &#8211; it is likely you would not know how to put one together. And you are certainly not likely to unearth any one around the company who understands much more about it than you do.</p>
<p>A strategic marketing team, like a wide range of other working groups hasn&#8217;t got to be complex to set up and run as that. Plus it should not need anyone&#8217;s time and effort for a continual basis, than yours.</p>
<p>Who could you get to be on your strategic marketing team? Who really should be actively involved in the process and who can be relied on to produce the resources and viewpoints you need?</p>
<p>To start pick 3-5 business owners from within your industry, individuals whose companies are well outside of your traditional marketing areas. Ideally some members would be like you, others older with more experience, and some younger with fresh perspectives.</p>
<p>Getting these people on board normally requires a little arm twisting, however when you offer to be on their strategic marketing team they&#8217;ll more than likely agree to get on board with you.<span id="more-607"></span></p>
<p>Dependant on his or her experiences they&#8217;re going to present insight to help you get moving on your strategic marketing &#8211; and you will reciprocate. They&#8217;re going to ask hard questions and supply welcome in addition to uncomfortable information from their perspectives. Their responses will include shared experiences, industry knowledge and also diverse approaches which have worked successfully for them.</p>

Capable business leaders know that anytime you make better judgements you will get better outcomes, and that their best decisions are those made in participation with people whose achievements they value and whose views they trust. It is universally true that whenever we harness to power of our peers, we make better judgements which are the steps to higher profits.</p>
<p>To begin the first, of many, strategic team sessions, you&#8217;ll be identifying specifically what you want to accomplish. You must be able to look down the road, beyond today&#8217;s fires, and picture a target that is both far enough to be attainable &#8211; this takes time you know, yet close enough to be important. These are strategic sessions not crisis identification and management &#8211; and yet there should be a level of urgency in the process or nothing will get done.</p>
<p>And right from the start you must talk openly to your group of peers, explaining clearly how the results achieved will be measured. Be prepared for some meaningful discussions around this process, accurately identifying and agreeing on your targets, benchmarks and the definition of success in advance is critical to keeping the process moving forward and on track.</p>
<p>If these matters aren&#8217;t clearly agreed upon in advance the resulting excuse making will destroy your believability with your peers and take away the momentum from the process.</p>
<p>As the strategies develop and you take the results back to your company watch out for the agenda&#8217;s, hidden and otherwise of your staff. Every decision steps on somebody&#8217;s toes, at least a tiny bit and unless they are universally willing to set aside their internal issues and get together on the big picture, they can stop your progress dead in its tracks.</p>
<p>Every manager, supervisor, and employee has concerns about how these plans will effect them. Such things as cash flow, profitability, market share, employee satisfaction, and many other things will be impacted by the final decisions you and your strategic marketing team make. Be sensitive to their concerns and comments, Your people from the loading dock to the Board room must be 100% on board or all your strategic marketing team&#8217;s efforts will be a waste of time.</p>
<p>You and the strategic advisory team of your peers must consider how each element of your strategic marketing plan impacts your organization. This is an never ending story &#8211; your peer to peer strategic advisory team will meet continually. The topics discussed in these strategy sessions will expand to every area of your organization, creating a very real teams of advocates who will help you focus on your continued future.</p>
<p>A peer to peer collaboration process removes the number one problem faced by today&#8217;s business owners, making decisions in isolation with no one to trust to talk to, who will not hold it against them in some way.</p>
<p>Business owners who think strategically, plan comprehensively, and execute flawlessly will certainly outpace those who simply set goals and hope for the best. In this public war game event, four top business schools predict the most prominent companies in the healthcare information technology and healthcare delivery industries will quickly move to create alliances and in certain cases merge with their rivals, to take advantage of the government push to adopt electronic medical records (EMRs).</p>
<p>Teams assumed the identity of four major healthcare icons simulating and stress testing their anticipated strategies to determine who will profit from the adoption of EMRs.  The Obama administrations injecting $19 billion to kick-start this nascent electronic medical records industry just gets the players moving. It is no guarantee you will see universal adoption of electronic records in healthcare anytime soon.  The teams included:</p>

<p>MITs team, simulating the McKesson strategies, won the war game competition based on four criteria:  the teams strategic insight, accuracy in presenting McKessons strategy, creative ways it expressed McKessons culture and goals, and finally, its ability to project their strategic vision into the future. Last years war game on The Battle for the Wireless Internet, won by the Kellogg MBA team, successfully predicted a number of industry alliances.</p>

<p>MITs team, simulating the McKesson strategies, won the war game competition based on four criteria:  the teams strategic insight, accuracy in presenting McKessons strategy, creative ways it expressed McKessons culture and goals, and finally, its ability to project their strategic vision into the future. Last years war game on The Battle for the Wireless Internet, won by the Kellogg MBA team, successfully predicted a number of industry alliances.</p>
