I believe John Pilger to be a talented journalist, and some of his investigations over the years have been revelations, however I try to remember that he is also an adept self-promoter and this had probably contributed to his success. What he is saying here is undoubtedly factual, however like many of his opponents on the Right, he is presenting a fairly superficial examination of the issues without acknowledging the compromises inherent in political office.
